At the 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards held at the Paris Air Show today, AirAsia was honoured as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the eleventh year in a row!
AirAsia was also bestowed with the ‘Asia’s Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Cabin’ award for its Premium Flatbed, available on long-haul AirAsia X flights.
The novelty of winning this award never wears off, as the Skytrax Awards is deemed as the ‘Oscars of the Aviation Industry’, THE benchmark of airline excellence all over the world.
And just like the Oscars, the winners are decided by a consensus of a group of people. However, unlike the Oscars that’s determined by a handful of selected members, regular people like you and me decide on the winners of the Skytrax Award. This year, 21.65 million guests from over 100 nationalities had their say on which airlines were chosen as the winners!
AirAsia has introduced the first A330neo to the AirAsia Group
Remember the time when flight tickets used to be so expensive and passengers were served with booze while smoking in the aircraft? Flying used to be for the rich, but ever since the birth of low-cost airlines, this unnecessary extravagance has been stripped away to make flying accessible to everyone, and AirAsia has never stopped innovating to achieve this goal.
Today, AirAsia has taken it one step further by unveiling the first A33neo for the AsiaAsia Group in their never-ending quest for fuel efficiency. Less fuel for the airline means cheaper flights for all of us!
This aircraft was opened for media visits, so we jumped at the chance! And this time, we were joined by Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, AirAsia X Berhad Chairman, who took time off from her busy schedule to be with us.
Til then, see you at the next Skytrax Award!
