Holbox Small, picturesque island whos inhabitants live
from shark and lobster fishing. Lovers of peace and tranquility will
feel in heaven here. Primitive nature and nothing but powdery white
sandy beaches.
Contoy Uninhabited island filled with dozens of different species of
birds. Contoy sits on a migration route for many cold climate birds and
it is not unusual to see tropical and northern species flying, swimming
or fishing near each other. Although free of humans, this island is
alive with the sound of winged residents and guests.
Isla Mujeres An island with a rich 600 year history. It was once a
shrine visited by the ancient Mayas on their pilgrimages to adore the
fertility goddess Ixchel.
Today, Isla Mujeres combines the seclusion of a Caribbean retreat with
much of the provincial charm of old Mexico. The main activites are
fishing and tourism.
Strolling is still conisdered a pastime here. Visitors can rent
bicycles, mopeds or electric carts to get around.
Punta Pajaros Gathering point for coastal and migratory species of
birds, ringed by sparkling white beaches.
Cozumel Biggest island in Mexico. The immensity of nearby coral reefs
and the crystalline transparency of surrounding waters, have made this
island famous among scuba divers from around the world. According to the
Mayan history, Cozumel was the hub for commercial traffic to Central
America and the rest of the Caribbean. The island features a variety of
ancient Maya and Spanish Colonial remains like San Gervacio and El
Cedral. Legends say that it was also a great ceremonial center dedicated
to the goddess of ferility Ixchel.
